When installing libpng15 with AUR it cannot check the key F54984BFA16C640F. After adding the key the problem is still not solved. Can this verification be disabled altogether?

It can, with yay for example.
Installed through the application manager, manually through makepkg -i and through yay -S libpng15. Nothing works. Installed the key through the Ubuntu servers and yay. Still can’t check the key, just some nonsense…
No one can help you if you don’t provide actual commands and errors.
Both makepkg and yay have switches to skip/ignore checking keys. And you can also import it manually with gpg.
