LibCap update Bug: FIXED

One humble day i was messing with Rasp pi and in pamac i installed the “imager” app. by default, it updates the system like sudo pacman -Syu, it went very well (:foreshadowing:), core, extra, multilib, but one time it said something like: Error: Failed to update “lib32=libcap2.71”
Ignore it? [N/s]
and ignored it, then nothing was installed and the “nothing to do lmaooooo” message appereaded and i almost reinstaled it.

But 2 hours later, i thinked:

"  Oh i can open the GUI and conf. to it not update auto"

Oh boy it worked (kinda), THE LIBCAP BUG didnt appear!!! now you will see “if the system talked”:

Ok now its time to kill bash and pamac cmd LoLLLLLLL

And it came back, at least i could use the GUI. And thats it. (Obs: I dont have ACTUAL msgs from terminal cuz i killed my /home folder and after my / folder soooooooo)

Summary:

  • LibCap bugged
  • I messed with pamac
  • It fixed
  • I lost pamac/pacman on bash
  • My OS died
  • Im here
I made this post to potencially help ppl with repo bugs, especially this one (this is why it hopped to manjaro), also this is my Hello post. Bye

Sorry, come again?

I’m not sure I understand … almost anything.

I dont know what your original issue was, or even images - no such package exists in the repos or the AUR.

I can maybe guess that

Might mean you used downgrade and were offered to add a package to the ignore list in pacman.conf?

In which case - you should remove the ignored packages from your /etc/pacman.conf file to return to a supported state.
