LG ULTRAGEAR GTX 1650 HDMI Blank screen until login screen

As the topic states on boot the screen stay’s blank until the login screen.Once the login screen appears I can login with no issue’s.Pressing del esc on boot has no affect.I have removed quiet from the grub_cmdline and reduced the refresh rate from 143.99 to 120.00 and 59.95 and it did not work.

Change GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden to GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu and save.
Then run sudo update-grub, and reboot.

Let us know if you now see the GRUB menu, before this apparent blank screen.

Changing to GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu shows the shut down but on reboot still the blank screen until the login screen.The monitor still shows entering energy saving mode until the login screen.Hitting the del for the bios or esc for the manjaro screen has no effect.

You should also remove the word(s) “quiet” (and if present, “splash”) from the “GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT” line.

That was the first thing I removed and I had this from several years ago

nvidia_drm.modeset=1 nvidia_drm.fbdev=1

The system and monitor work great other than not being able to see the bios and startup.

If you cannot see the POST information — what you call the BIOS, but what I suspect would rather be a UEFI — then it’s obviously a hardware problem, possibly related to the HDMI port.

You are probably right as this is an older desktop and graphic card.I have an older monitor that I am going to connect so I can install and start using the 6.19 kernel as it was showing the options at startup before I got this one.

I would like to add I had not noticed that the 1650 card had a display port that still had the plastic cap inserted.I removed the hdmi cable and connected to the dp and everything now works with much better graphics.Thanks for trying to help as usual for me the issue is between the chair and the keyboard.
