Lenovo T460 FN key not working

Hi, I’m using a Thinkpad T460 and the FN key doesn’t work. I have BIOS config option to use ether the F1-F12 keys or the FN keys (volume up/down, brightness up/down etc.).
When I enable F1-F12 as Primary Function in the BIOS config, the F1-F12 keys work always as F1-F12 keys even with FN pressed together.
When I disable F1-F12 as Primary Function in the BIOS config, the F1-F12 keys work always as volume up/down, brigthness up/down even with FN pressed tpgether.

So I can switch between the behaviour via the BIOS config option.

So far, I tried kernel 5.10, 5.13 and 5.14.

When I run showkey it makes no difference when I press the F1-F12 keys with or without FN pressed together. It seems to me that the FN key is dead.
Before I installed Manjaro on this notebook, I was using Ubuntu 20.04 for years and didn’t had this problem. So I’m pretty sure it’s not a hardware defect.

Any ideas to narrow down the problem?

I’m pretty sure it is… Have you tried an external keyboard already?

:crossed_fingers:

I don’t have an external keyboard with a FN key.
