Launching any game on Steam causing the screen to go black

I have been having some issues with launching games on Steam since switching to Wayland earlier today. Every time I launch a game, native or via Proton, my monitor goes completely black. I can solve this issue by alt-tabbing out of the game. However, whatever I try the game window cannot be focused without the screen going black.

I have looked through the game logs and haven’t noticed anything extraordinary.

Does anyone know of a quick fix for this issue?

Here are my system specs:

I have noticed this being spammed in dmesg:

The only part of this that I see for every game I launch would be the usb spam. This is potentially unrelated to my actual problem.

And I’m not sure if this is a problem, but in my Steam client log (launching CSGO) I am seeing

SDL video target is 'x11'

even though I am using Wayland. Not sure if that’s an issue.

It might also be noteworthy that the monitor seems to loose signal entirely, rather than just going black.

Resolved!

Changing Adaptive Sync to never seemed to fix all the issues immediately. Not entirely sure why but it works.
