Laptop goes right back to sleep after waking it up

Hello, I recently install the Cinnamon edition of Manjaro, and later decided that I wanted to try Gnome so that I could benefit from using Wayland. I removed all the cinnamon related packages and installed the gnome meta-package including gdm and removed lightdm.

All seems to work really well so far except for when my laptop goes to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity. When I wake it up, the gdm login screen appears but the laptop goes right back to sleep 15 seconds later. After waking up a second time, it stays awake.

This does not happen if i put the laptop in sleep mode manually by clicking the button from the menu.

I would appreciate if someone could help me diagnose the issue. I’m wondering if some configurations or packages relating to power management were left after switching DE’s.

Hello again and thanks for reading my topic.

I decided to download the latest ISO with the Gnome edition of Manjaro and reinstall. This behavior still occurs even after a performing a fresh install of Manjaro so it isn’t related to me switching desktop environments. Again, this didn’t happen while using the Cinnamon edition.

Hi, I found a couple threads containing relevant information about this issue HERE and HERE.

Seems like there are a couple workarounds that can be tried until there’s a permanent fix. Thanks!
