Hello community. I want to try Wayland, I click on the end session button, the sddm screen does not appear, the splash screen is shown and the desktop is loaded again.

See if this helps…

I always used to start with an empty session. So this is a bug? On another computer with nvidia the end session button works. Ok. I’ll wait for a fix.

It would appear so, yes.

You can also complettly skip SDDM when you want to restart/shutdown… this evades problems too.

System Settings>Session>Logout Screen: Shown, mark it unselected.

Additional i can recommend to remove splash screen also:
System Settings>Colors & Themes>Splash Screen>None

Less features, less bugs = more stability.

Edit:
@Fomin90
I forgot to mention:
System Settings>Screen Locking:

Lock Screen Automatically: Never
Lock after waking from sleep: unchecked.

Found a way to enable Wayland. System Settings → Colors & Themes → Login Screen (SDDM) : Click the Behavior - Wayland

Ohh you use autologin… function, i wasn’t aware about that. I prefer that login too.

The Wayland/X11 switch button, is shown for manual login at the bottom left at the SDDM Menu, but people who use autologin… then your menu area is the right spott to change that Autologin Behavior.

What does this mean?

(This path does not appear to exist on Plasma 6.2, but I wonder what this option is that ‘skips SDDM’)

I was talking about the SDDM Login Menu, so when he use the Taskbar and press Shutdown/Reboot he can skip the menu.

Less mouse clicks and the Menu won’t shown on your screen from this options.

System Settings>Session…

But i just wrote Settings>Sessions, my fault. I correct that above.

We are using 6.1.5 on stable branch, don’t know if that changed in 6.2 but the OP used also the stable branch and not the other branch (in relation to his system info that he posted above).
