Lags after big update on 2024-11-30

After update, videos start lagging (losing frames) and any keyboard input (in terminal, browser, etc.) starts having delay (I write some bunch of symbols, and they show up after a while)

I looked with btop on my system and found nothing suspicious. CPU and memory usage are within a norm (like CPU — 5%, Memory — 10-20%)

I use kernel 6.11.10-2, GNOME/Wayland.
CPU: Ryzen 7 8845 HS
RAM: 16 GB

If any else information about my system is needed to solve my problem — write me please

I’m certain somone will be able to offer a suggestion or two. I’m not a Gnome user, so anything I could contribute might not be of any relevance.

Hi @Minuano and welcome to the Manjaro community.

As a new forum user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements; in particular, the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:

The Update Announcements should be checked frequently for important update related information.

These announcements contain a Known Issues and Solutions section and should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

Please provide system information according to forum requirements in the links listed (above). Output of the following command may be useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --admin --verbosity=8 --filter --no-host --width

Be prepared to provide more information and outputs from other commands when asked.

Regards.

Gtk4 uses now vulkan. Check the troubleshooting section of the update announcements and see if ngl works better for you.

I tried all options in GTK4 troubleshooting section and nothing helps. Maybe it was even worse than before. Is there something else I can try?

You can try if Gnome on X11 might work better.

Unfortunately, that didn’t help either. It was definitely worse than before.

Try a different kernel.

I tried Linux 6.6.63-1-MANJARO. Installed through “Manjaro Settings Manager” and run with advanced options for Manjaro when GRUB had started (Tried both options for kernel that there was)

Consider adding swap space:

Swap:
Alert: No swap data was found.

I did it using this page. And for protocol, it didn’t help with my problem.

It was general advice, given after skimming your system information. Swap is better to have, than not have.

Regards.
