Hi,
Just trying Kodi on Wayland. I know it should works without any hassle but first… I can’t find Kodi-Wayland package.
Also, when it runs, it shows Kodi is running under X11. Is it possible to make it works with native Wayland support? What happened to Kodi-wayland package?
There is kodi-standalone-service
from AUR.
Here: Kodi - ArchWiki
There were separate kodi-x11
and kodi-wayland
packages, but now there’s just kodi
.
The kodi package supports for several composers, including Xorg, GBM, and Wayland.

Are you sure you’re logged in to a Wayland session?
echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
Yes.
~ echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE ✔
wayland
Command ran while Kodi is running. Also, Kodi shows X11 as Windowing system under System Information tab.
I think it runs in XWayland, not native wayland
I just installed kodi
on GNOME with Wayland and it shows Windowing system: Wayland.
Maybe… Fractional scaling works, so maybe it’s a bug when it showing X11.
I just installed
kodi
on GNOME with Wayland and it shows Windowing system: Wayland.
Damn… I’m gonna reinstall it. Also, could you please test it with fractional scaling? I’m using 125%

It definitely runs under X11: Imgur: The magic of the Internet weird…
Something is missing…
kodi --windowing=Wayland ✔
Selected window system not available: --windowing=Wayland
Available window systems: x11
same issue here (also on gnome 40)
