Hi all…
Installed KMPlayer on Manjaro KDE → but it doesn’t open on Wayland. x86-64.
AMD Ryzen 3200g Processor. 4 GB DDR4 RAM. No external graphics card.
Also SMPlayer not opening video files in Wayland sessions but is able to do so in X-Org.
egl-wayland installed.
Open it from the terminal and post any output it gives.
kmplayer --verbose
QCommandLineParser: already having an option named “h”
QCommandLineParser: already having an option named “help-all”
QCommandLineParser: already having an option named “v”
kmplayer: Unknown option ‘verbose’.
tshering@AsRock:~$ kmplayer
QCommandLineParser: already having an option named “h”
QCommandLineParser: already having an option named “help-all”
QCommandLineParser: already having an option named “v”
Segmentation fault (core dumped )
Hm, seems the package in Arch has not been updated in a couple of years.
Maybe wayland has been updated and kmplayer has not followed.
PS: The last release tag of kmplayer was 5 years ago. Maybe it’s time to find another media player?
Thanks.
A suggestion to remove it from the official repository if it is defunct
