Keyboard backlight no longer starts after boot on Tuxedo Pulse 14

After the 2023-05-07 stable update, on Pulse 14, Manjaro KDE, the keyboard backlight does not start automatically. The laptop will turn on and the backlight will be OFF (even with the last state left at ON). Using Fn+Space returns backlight set to 0% (OFF), which means nothing happens since the backlight was already OFF. I can then Fn+Space again to turn it ON to whatever setting in my TCC settings. The backlight works coming from sleep.

On Githhub, I was asked to show the output of dkms status which is

Error! Could not locate dkms.conf file.
File: /var/lib/dkms/tuxedo-keyboard/3.0.8/source/dkms.conf does not exist.

Users there were surprised with this output and said the following

Seems like something broke on the package level on your system and tuxedo-keyboard did not get build at all. tuxedo-keyboard 3.2.3 should just build fine for linux 6.3.

They also recommended to come here since the output of dmks status should be different.

FYI TCC is at 2.0.4, tuxedo-keyboard-dkms 3.2.3 (Manjaro Official repositories - community), and kernel 6.3.0

But do you have the linux63-headers installed on your system?

Yup, I have headers installed too. For completeness, this behaviour was also observed with the previous linux 6.2 (with the corresponding headers installed).

I solved the dkms status issue. There were some old version dkms modules there (from linux 5.14) that never got cleaned up. Why they never got cleaned automatically when they were uninstalled? I don’t know.
After deleting the obsolete folders dksm status command now shows what is should, as per below

tuxedo-keyboard/3.2.3, 6.3.3-1-MANJARO, x86_64: installed
v4l2loopback/0.12.7, 6.3.3-1-MANJARO, x86_64: installed
