Kernel panic on linux 6.9 manjaro

Hi I have a big problem some since I installed manjaro some times it freezes 3 it happened when I turned off the computer and once while I was starting firefox and every time my caps lock button flashes can you tell me the reason? Everything was fine thanks for the help

Should I change kernel?

I know nothing about your system and usecase - I have no idea.

You could provide some insight into your system.

Provide the links generated by the following commands (they will extract information needed to properly assess the situation)

pacman -Qqm | curl -F 'file=@-' https://0x0.st
pacman -Qqn | curl -F 'file=@-' https://0x0.st
pacman -Qdt | curl -F 'file=@-' https://0x0.st
inxi -Fzayc0 | curl -F 'file=@-' https://0x0.st
cat /etc/default/grub | curl -F 'file=@-' https://0x0.st
cat /etc/mkinitcpio.conf | curl -F 'file=@-' https://0x0.st

You haven’t provided any useful information.

Please read through the following link, and understand what is needed from you when you ask for support:

Cheers.

So I ran these commands now?

Please share …

Apart from the commands on the terminal nothing appeared, if it generated files where can I find them?

each command return a link to the output - stored at https://0x0.st/<filename.txt>

but of course if the host is not there - it wil fail

No sorry it didn’t fail, here’s the result screenshot

It is impossible to say - your system looks fairly ordinary to me

It could be caused by the plymouth nvidia combination - but as I don’t run Nvidia I cannot say.

As you are using a AMD 7735 APU, I suggest you use a newer kernel - usually better support for AMD

On stable branch you linux 6.10.0 is the latest.

On unstable branch there is Nvidia 555 and Linux 6.11-rc1

The use of screenshots

Do not post images or screenshots as part of your topic. The forum is a technical forum not an image gallery.
Forum Rules - Manjaro

I removed you screenshot and pasted you systeminfo from your link.

Please avoid images in the future.

The forum search engine cannot index images - they are not searchable like text - and finding information in other topics is a must on this forum.

Ok I won’t post any more images, now I have installed kernel 6.10.03 let’s hope we don’t have any more problems. I’ll let you know. But maybe I should set it to dedicated as default?

I turned off the computer, same problem, it freezes with flashing caps lock

Please test

  • Boot the system
  • Do not login
  • switch to TTY e.g. CtrlAltF4
  • login
  • then run command
systemctl poweroff

When this does not trigger kernel panic it is Plasma related.

Reboot the system - login to the desktop as usual - then open a terminal and run

systemctl poweroff

If that does not trigger kernel panic either - I would deduce the kernel panic to be Plasma related - yet I have no way of verifying - as my AMD systems does not exhibit this kernel panic.

Plasma is 6.0.5 on stable branch - but extension, theme, sddm greeter etc you can get your hands on is created for 6.1 (upstream) - and this may cause unknown, unforeseen issues.

Ok, I tried it and it crashed

Which one ? First or second ?

At the first command
