[ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo UEFI || echo BIOS returns only BIOS text
and no i am not dual booting

I would recommend to install an older Nvidia driver and switch to Wayland (via selection at login).

How to install another Nvidia driver:

Your root filesystem is already pretty packed, btrfs is a bit picky in this case. Better double check with:

sudo btrfs filesystem usage {/path/to/filesystem}

where {/path/to/filesystem} has to be replaced with your specific data.

i tried lowering usage by deleting files and was throwing same “panic “ error on 75% as well
it could be that it is GPU related but i dont have time to experiment with nvidia drivers now (will report on that later)
I switched to older LTS kernel and it is stable now. I dont know if i am losing much by staying at older kernel and is it possible to just wait out the new kernel patch and hope it fixes this ?

Just deleting stuff might not help with BTRFS - a balance or whatever might be required
to actually free up some space.
That file system works different than ext4, for example - and it has got it’s own tools for maintaining it.

Please:
when posting terminal output, format that as “preformatted text”
not as a “quote”.
(I took the liberty to make these layout changes to your post)

I resolved the issue by fixing bad pacdiff merge in

==> Building image from preset: /etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux612.preset: 'default' ==> Using default configuration file: '/etc/mkinitcpio.conf'   -> -k /boot/vmlinuz-6.12-x86_64 -g /boot/initramfs-6.12-x86_64.img
/etc/mkinitcpio.conf: line 37: syntax error near unexpected token `<<<'
/etc/mkinitcpio.conf: line 37: `<<<<<<< /etc/mkinitcpio.conf'
==> ERROR: Failed to read configuration '/etc/mkinitcpio.conf'

after deleting bad lines it started working on new kernel, I was also deleting and optimzing filesystem so that could have also played a role, i didnt change to wayland nor tried other nvidia drivers though

Thanks for your help
