LTS Kernel 6.6.19-1 will not wake from sleep.
Dmesg and journalctl are empty, only show the system enter suspension, system comes back to a black screen, the mouse cursor is visible but immovable and the system is unresponsive. Hard reset is the only option. Same behavior in X11 or Wayland, and with an external monitor attached or not. Haven’t tried with a different discreet GPU. But I currently run a FirePro M6100 with the AMDGPU driver.
For now I just run the 6.1.80-1 LTS kernel. It works fine.

@Imightbebatman
keep it simple, a lot of users have issues with kernel 6.6.xxx. if you have to stay on lts kernel 6.1.xxx will suit very good while long-term-distros as debian,fedora,redhat will use 6.1 as long-term-kernel. if you wann stay up-to-date then use kernel 6.7

It is not exactly a kernel bug, because i resume from sleep just fine (6.6.19). It is probably some driver or something to do with the video.
Yea, maybe it should be titled “potential kernel bug”.
I’m just posting here for awareness. I’m running on 6.1 just fine and intend to stay there. 6.6 came pre-installed and broken for me. Figured someone here might care.
FYSA for everyone else.

An inxi with your hardware will be nice here, because it is obviously hardware dependend. As said, (s2idle !) works fine on
inxi -v7azy

it’s already known that the 6.6 kernel has some bugs/malfunctions with filesystems and networking and got updated to 6.7. i expect that kernel 6.6 will be soon eol and replaced with a newer one as lts. but that’s my speculation, who knows what linus-kernel-brewery is doing. i already wonder that the frequency of new kernel version became so fast and rapid while the last one year. we are already at 6.8-rc and it won’t last long that the major release number is getting kernel 7.xxx.

Tried varios inxi outputs and I keep being told I’m trying to insert a link, and the post fails.
I’m new here, we’ll blame me.
I’m going to mark @Olli ’s answer as solving this.
Thanks everybody.
It’s because I had a typo in my markup.

Kernel 6.6 will be EOL after December 2026.

Huh?
6.6
is an LTS kernel and it’s current projected EOL is Dec, 2026
, see

@freggel.doe
@ben75
and the cip-consortium (let’s name it so) guarantee the support of kernel-6.1 till end of 2033 by it’s 10-year support decission. kernel 6.6 will be compost in 2033 while 6.1 is still active.
While that is true, december 2026 is not “soon” but rather 1 3/4 years ahead.
