KDE Sleep Wake Up Security Issue

I am starting to have this issue with KDE X11 lately. My desktop is set to Sleep (Standby) after 30 minutes. When I come back and press power button to wake up it goes straight to desktop with all the windows open when it went to sleep. After a bit of freeze/lag it’s working as normal. I would expect it to go to login screen ( which it used to ) and prompt for password!. System details:

Assuming you booted once after the incident post output of

journalctl -r -b -1

Are you using auto login? What display manager are you using?
Also, please post

pacman -Qm

and

inxi -Fza

Hm I think you mean lock screen here.
What are your settings here (sorry screenshot is from Plasma 5, can add 6 later).

Yeah I meant Lock screen. Here are settings:

I am not using auto login. Detials of issue after trying to replicate it:

  1. It seems like it’s actually on lock screen, but on display your desktop from previous session ( hence looks like it is frozen ). It does not actually show you lock screen
This still is an issue as it’s in plain sight everything I was doing when it went to sleep.
  2. It does not happen if I press power button to sleep and then press power to wake up once everything (except RAM ) goes off. It seems to happen when it wakes up after quite a bit of time >15-20 mins

pacman - QM:

kconnect 0.5.17-1
nordconnect 0.1.1-1
onedrive-abraunegg 2.5.0-1

These are not the screen locking settings but for energy saving.
Try searching for “LOCK” in System Settings please.

Think it might be the “Allow unlocking without password” setting?

If your issue happens with these settings, I’m not able to help further.

The 5sec is just right after your 5-minutes timeout.
Does lockscreen show after 5+ minutes ?

So I removed 5 sec ( changed to 0 ) and now it hasn’t happened. Going to observe it a bit more before saying “that solved it”

Good idea, I have recently seen screen content also for a blink of an eye before the lockscreen, on both 5 and 6 after wake from hibernate.

It is actually just meant as an, “oops, I don’t want my screen locked right now” when your in front of screen-kind-of-prevention.

Now I am so eloquent am I not

I can confirm removing 5 seconds ( changing to 0 ) fixes

  1. Desktop displayed
  2. Screen freeze

It actually now goes right away to lock screen and is responsive
