KDE Plasma mobile for x86_64

Hello,

I’d like to play with plasma mobile on my x86_64 tablet. Unfortunately, there is no package in the Manjaro repos. There is one in the AUR, but it seems to depend on some newer KDE packages than included in Manjaro.

I guess it’s possible to make the AUR package work, but I suspect that this is no long-term solution since every update, either to Manjaro or to the AUR package for plasma mobile might screw something up.

Is there any viable solution to get plasma mobile running on Manjaro x86_64? If running plasma mobile on Manjaro requires constant tinkering I will probably use the Fedora version with plasma mobile to experiment a bit…

It should detect tablet automatically (especially if you run in Wayland), but if not, simply go to System Settings → General Behavior and switch Touch Mode to Always enabled:

The touch mode is different from plasma mobile. Touch mode is a regular KDE Plasma desktop with larger GUI elements while plasma mobile is a special user interface for phones and other mobile devices build on the KDE framework.

One of the reasons why I ‘d like to play a bit with plasma mobile is that I’m unsure whether I prefer KDE’s touch mode or plasma mobile for daily use on a tablet.
