Question: If I opted for a smartphone running KDE mobile version on it, would I be able to sync it with my KDE desktop, beyond simple local network abilities?
Or would I be limited to my local wifi for that?
Currently there is nothing as such to sync things Between devices.

you could install nextcloud and sync your devices over your cloud. Calendar syncing does not work anymore in plasma mobile, I think.
