Kde Live boot crashes on AMD/Intel combo

Hello everybody.
I’ve created an USB live boot with Kde Plasma. Everything works fine and I’m able to interact with the Desktop Environment. However after 10 minutes or so, the DE crashes and i can’t do anything. I’ve tried with other USB and the problem is the same.

I’ve had this problem with other Linux distros, like Ubuntu and Mint, while installing and booting and I resolved the same problem adding the pci=noaer parameter. I’m writting this because I don’t know if this problem is related.

Laptop specs: Hp laptop 15bs020xx Processor Intel core i7-7500U 2.7GHz Memory: 8Gb Graphics: AMD Radeon

Hello, does it crash during install, or during some tests you perform on live USB?

It crashes while I’m testing it. The first crash happened while i was viewing a video on Firefox, the second while i was reading a PDF.

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

Please read this:

and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)

:innocent:

P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU you have, …

In a moment i will run and paste dmesg when the liveboot crashes again.
Thanks a lot.

As the liveboot isn’t persistent, that won’t help us anyway. :frowning:

You’re on an AMD GPU which I know little about, (nVidia here myself) so I won’t be of much help to you going further, but I’ve edited your title and tags to attract the AMD gurus here…

:+1:

Thanks a lot for your help, I appreciate it a lot.
