KDE: Icons on Desktop inoperable, no Keyboard on login screen

Hi folks,
I got two KDE issues. I changed nothing on the system, maybe its a Problem of a Update.
Nothing happen by clicking the icons on the desktop.
Second thing:
After automaticly logout cause of afk, its not possible to enter password. If i want use the screen keyboard, click on it - > nothing happen.
Is there a solution for these problems?
Thanks!

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

Please read this:

and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)

:+1:

P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU you have, …

this informations are helpfully?

greetings from lake constance

Leider nicht… :man_shrugging:

  1. Please provide the full inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width
  2. Please give one specific example of one desktop icon

and then we’ll take it from there.

Entschuldigung! :man_shrugging:

Okay, danke.
Es betrifft alle Icons auf dem Desktop.

  1. In the future, when providing code/output, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text so that the output looks like this:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.
Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.

    instead of like this:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. (as that makes both our lives much easier)

  2. Standard, there are no icons on the desktop, so I need one very specific example to see what’s going on… :man_shrugging:

  3. What do you mean by this? That the first login works, but after you log out of the desktop, you cannot log in any more?

  1. Thunderbird, Kate, Moneyplex
  2. yes, nothing happen if i try entering the password.

  1. what’s the output of:

    cat ~/Desktop/*hunder*

    if:

cat: '/home/schwenk/Desktop/*hunder*': No such file or directory

(or just a bunch of garbage with a beep every now and then),
    what’s the output of:

    ls -al ~/Desktop/*hunder*

  2. What happens if you then go to TTY2 by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2.
Can you still log in there?

Yes

  1. ls -al ~/Desktop/

  2. After you log in there, what’s the output of:

    sudo dmesg | tail --lines=50
