KDE Dolphin now uses black text on a dark background

KDE Dolphin now uses black text on a dark background in both stock dark themes (Breeze dark and Breath dark):

I’ve had this issue for a long time in certain third-party software, but I don’t think I’ve seen it in a core part of Plasma until this update.

Which indicates that your issue has nothing to do with the Update thread you posted in.

Your post has been moved to a dedicated topic.

Please provide as much detail as possible along with system information as described (below).

Anecdotal:- I have installed the same groups of updates and can see no indication of the issue you describe, which leads me to suspect the problem is limited to your environment.

Please create a new User account (for testing purposes) and let us know if the issue persists in that account. If it doesn’t, then that will support the suspicion, and indicate your focus should be on cleaning up your main account profile (remove old theme settings that might be conflicting, empty caches, etc).

Regards.

Update Announcements

The Update Announcements contain important information and a Known Issues and Solutions section that should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

System Information

While information from *-fetch type apps might be fine for someone wishing to buy your computer, for Support purposes it’s better to ask your system directly; :eyes:

Output of the inxi command (with appropriate parameters, and formatted according to forum guidelines) will generate information useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8 --color=0

or the short form (preferred):

inxi -zv8c0

Be prepared to provide output from other commands whenever asked. It’s equally important to provide as much actionable information as possible in your first post, rather than simply indicating there is a problem.

You may have a wrong color selected in settings. I don’t have issues on my side.
Which one do you have?

Also you may have a random issue in your cache, you may delete (or rename to keep other things in it if needed) the .cache folder from a TTY before login to desktop and then login to refresh things in the cache.

This is probably an issue with the color theme you are using.

Highly likely and I’m not seeing any issues on the three computer running Manjaro KDE, here.

But until the OP responds with some detailed information about their System, it will be difficult to pin point their problem.

Thanks for moving this, and thanks all for the pointers. I’ve changed the setting at the top here:

from “Custom accent colour” to “Accent colour from colour scheme” and the problem was resolved.

I did also make a test user which had the same issue despite not changing any of the theme or colour settings for them:

As this isn’t a wider issue I won’t investigate further, just mentioning because I thought it was odd.
