KDE doesnt keep display brightness settings anymore after newest update

the newest update really brought in a lot of troubles for me from the conky error to freezes/ crashes to totally different special application settings.

what bothers me the most though is that kde doesnt keep brightness settings anymore. i can set it to what i want in the power managment settings and after reboot its gone.

any ideas whats the issue here?
