I am trying to follow a guide and there is a step that I need to know if my system uses GRUB

What is the proper way to check that?

Yes, GRUB is used by default.

What guide? Not all of them are written properly and may or may not apply to Arch-based distros like Manjaro.

You can check if it’s installed by searching your installed programs via Add/Remove Software in your application menu or from the terminal:

With pamac:

pamac search --installed grub

Or pacman:

pacman -Qs grub
