I am experiencing issues with the screenshot tool of KDE (spectacle) since a few days:

Does anybody else also have these problems? I can’t find any other reports here, so it might be a Manjaro/ Arch specific issue?

It makes selecting a rectangular area of the screen really complicated and results in blurry screenshots.

I suspect this is a local issue - I cannot reproduce

You are using 6.12 - have you verified it is also the case with 6.17?

Even was thinking a GPU driver issue which could have been eliminated with the later kernel.

But it is difficult to suggest a path forward when I cannot reproduce the issue.

no, please check if plasma-x11-session is installed

pamac search plasma-x11-session

if not insall it with

sudo pacman -S plasma-x11-session

afterwards you’re able to choose between x11 and wayland at the login-screen (left-bottom-corner).

choose x11 after rebooting and login. check if spectacle works properly under x11.

you can choose at any login which session you want.

Also, @MajorMayer , please update your user profile by visiting this page: Forum Profile Preferences.

Your user profile currently says that you are on Stable branch and running Gnome, not Plasma. That can cause confusion for anyone looking at your user profile to see some info about your system, especially at the moment due to Stable branch still being on a version of Plasma that has not split x11 from Wayland.

Right, the profile was really quite outdated, thanks for the hint.

I updated it, with the specs of my primary desktop PC.

I also have a notebook running Manjaro Gnome Unstable, but that’s not relevant here…

Plasma X11 session was not installed, so I installed it and tried to boot the system with X11.

Unfortunately, after I entered my credentials in SDDM, the display just turned black and nothing happened.
I tried to press every key and key combinations that i knew, but no luck.
If I select Wayland in the display manager, the system boots normally.

So unfortunately I can’t tell you if it works with X11.

Not sure how to debug this properly and if I got the time, but if you have any hints, feel free to tell me.

I noticed that the issue only happens when I enabled my second screen (the Acer) but disabled the third screen (the LG).
