Is there a recommended method of installing PEAR packages for PHP?

Hello. I’m using the KDE desktop if that matters.

I have a LAMP stack installed for testing only, not actually hosting anything from my equipment, and would like to use the PEAR package email class to use SMTP and SSL.

Is there a recommended method of installing PEAR on Manjaro? If I understand correctly, PEAR doesn’t just get installed but only an application that permits the installation of individual packages?

There are several PEAR packages in the AUR.

pamac search --aur pear

Thank you. I forgot I have only the official repository turned on in preferences. I’ll look.
