I had a bit of a surprise when I logged in this morning. My Clipboard still contained the URL of a page I’d copied and pasted last night before logging off. (Lucky I live alone as it was a page I’d have been a little embarrassed by if anyone had seen I’d been there).
Is this supposed to happen? I can make sure it’s cleared using wl-copy, so it’s not really a problem. I’m just curious.
Two things, you probably have the session saved and loaded after reboot, disable that behavior in System Settings, search for “session” and select to start with a new session.
Also Klipper has settings for clipboard history, check it in the system tray, right click it and check its options.
You should be able to configure the clipboard not to store clippings across sessions by right-clicking on the system tray icon & selecting “Configure Clipboard”. In the General tab, make sure “Save history across desktop sessions” is not checked:
Your clipboard data is stored in the ~/.local/share/klipper/ directory.
