Intermittent laptop freezes without response

Hey everyone!

For half a year I have been suffering with complete freezes of the laptop, only turning off by pressing the power button helps. Tried the solutions found on the forum, but nothing helps.
I tried to switch to proprietary drivers, but I get a black screen when loading. Also tried different kernels.

As I understand it, buying laptop for linux os with dual graphics was a mistake…

Please help me understand what is the problem.

Warning: No installed USB configs!

you are using the open source drivers for nvidia + you have installed also video vesa…
so first add the ibt parameter:
sudo nano /etc/default/grub
and inside this line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT inside the quotes add this parameter:
ibt=off
dont remove anything, just add it to existing parameters, save the file with ctrl+x, press Y, update grub:
sudo update-grub

now remove video vesa:
sudo mhwd -r pci video-vesa
and there should be a leftover vesa conf located here: /etc/X11/, so remove it too… if you are not sure post output from:
find /etc/X11/ -name "*.conf"

now install the proper nvidia drivers:
sudo mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300
when done reboot - dont reboot if you didnt removed the vesa conf, you may end up with a black screen

Thanks for answer, but I have black screen again))

The ibt option has already been disabled before.

so did you add the ibt parameter or not? without it you will not be able to boot…
did you removed video vesa and its config?

Yes. I did everything as you wrote.

and can you enter into tty: ctrl+alt+f2, or f1-f6 keys and post a picture of:
mhwd -l -li
ls /etc/modprobe.d
find /etc/X11/ -name "*.conf"

remove the xorg conf:
sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf

do you have installed the 5.15 kernel?
if no install it:
sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux515
reboot and try booting also with the 5.15 if the 6.1 doesnt work

Thanks! This worked for me, without change kernel.
I’ll test for a few days and get back with feedback.
