I’m running a Manjaro host and a Debian based distro in guest using virt-manager.
On my host I created a virtual GPU using intel GVT-g which I added to my virtual machine config.
My guest is installed “fresh” and starts fine. If I run glxgears -info I can see it is using opengl 4.6. on 60 FPS
On my host I can see the iGPU is being utilized using resource monitoring tools.
Unfortunately to me it “feels” the VM is running low fps (for instance when moving mouse it is not snappy).
I tried installing the same distro to another VM (using virtio for video) and no form of hardware acceleration for GPU and this VM does not have the issue.
I think it has something to do with how the GPU rendered “VM screen” is passed to the virt-manager display window as internally the VM seems to have no issues reaching 60FPS.
Is there anyone that has any idea? I know it is asking for a lot. In case more information is needed I will provide it.
