If not wanted, then maybe adding the vmd module can help: Boot the ISO… Edit the grub menu with E and add this to the parameter after quiet. modules_load=vmd https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/kernel-command-line.html#modules_load= That should load the module (driver) early. I changed from Optane to AHCI and also added that modules_load=vmd after quiet in grub menu
