Installation issues - bootloader fails to install

Hi. I am really new to linux and wanted to change my OS to KDE Plasma. Everything is going very well until near the very end of installation, when i got an error message saying ‘ The bootloader could not be installed. The installation command grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg returned error code 1.’ I can’t put links on my post unfortunately, but i do have a termbin. com with the numbers being 7x3t at the end, if anyone wants to see my full install.

For my installation, I completely wiped my previous harddrive after backing it up carefully. When I go back into the installer to attempt install again, it shows that Manjaro has already installed onto my handdrive. I’m assuming the issue is the bootloader here. I have tried to install bootloader manually using a tutorial but not any success.

My computer specs are:
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz
Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER
Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
Product Name: Z390 AORUS PRO

The only thing i think could have gone wrong is the fact that when i downloaded the iso from manjaro earlier today, the download took a long time and stopped and started alot. I worried that this would cause an error with the files, but after checking the integrity of it i didnt see anything wrong. but i may have missed something, of course.

I have realized my issue and now feel very stupid… I had, in the past, switched to legacy boot for some random issue ages ago and forgotten to go back to UEFI. after i switched back, monjaro KDE installed beautifully. thank you to the forum!
