Installation Error - Failure reading sector from 'hd1'

You should probably remove all partitions, and start with a fresh slate.

To use UEFI booting, the disk should have a GUID Partition Table (GPT) which allows greater than four partitions to be created (if I recall correctly, the functional limit was 128 partitions).

You can use GParted (GUI) in the Live Manjaro environment to clear the disk and create a GPT partition scheme. Then, you can reboot and install the OS.

The medium used to install an OS must also have a GPT partitioning scheme, and must boot as UEFI. For example, if you use Rufus to create a Manjaro Installer, you must pay attention to the Rufus configuration.

I personally recommend creating a Ventoy USB - See the link I gave earlier for a functional guide to using it correctly.

:information_source: Most USB drives/thumb dives are likely prepared as BIOS/MBR disks – you don’t want this → not for a USB → not for a HDD → not for an SSD.

When preparing your system via Calamares it will show you (near the top of the screen) whether the disk you are installing to is MBR or GPT - it should be GPT for UEFI booting. Pay careful attention.

Since, I won’t be able to format my HDD, I’m considering this installation for my SSD now, which is in GPT GUID Partition Table, this SSD already has Windows in it, So by creating 1 partition I can Manjaro & Windows side by side? And Yeah for my installation it was MBR , I’ll correct this.

Why not?

Personal documents, too large to move here or there or even backup.
It will be much more convenient for me to use this supposed space I thought for Manjaro as another partition and keep my SSD’s file there then make a space for Manjaro on GPT based SSD

Hello everybody! So the problem was with MBR - GPT - EFI stuff itself. And this was hassle and I didn’t had the privilege to Clean Install, thus I decided to download Manjaro (along side) and cleared up space of around 60 GiBs on my SSD (EFI & GPT - already has Windows) and Voila! No errors or nothing!
It was my requirements which lead me to those errors, anyways I learned a lot and I’ll use HDD as read and store only.
Thank you everyone for your valuable inputs

For consideration:

If you can obtain a USB drive that’s fairly large; and fast; and if it’s only needed for storage; you can prepare that with a GPT partition scheme.

The point: Those large personal documents you mentioned could be transferred to this new USB drive.

Another possibility is to find a (good quality) USB Enclosure to house a normal HDD (again setup as GPT), as HDDs tend to be fairly cheap in comparison to SSD.

Most welcome.
Good to know you’re back on track.
