Install i3wm alongside KDE - using Manjaro i3 community configs

Hi all,

i’m actually using latest Manjaro edition with KDE/Plasma and i’d very much like to install i3wm, but i watn to resemble the awesome manjaro community i3 configuration.

Are there any tutorials to complete this task? Ideas, advices, etc. etc.

Thank you very much!

The Arch Wiki has information on how to use a different WM - i3wm specifically - in KDE (that’s what I understand from your post, please correct me if I’m wrong).
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KDE#Use_a_different_window_manager

For this, you’ll have to install the package manjaro-i3-settings and after its installation, copy the content of the /etc/skel/ directory to your home directory - make sure to create a backup copy of your home directory first, just to be on the safe side.
After doing so, there might be some issues regarding packages not installed in your system. That’s something you’ll have to figure out on your own.

@bill_t thank you very much, it was indeed quite simple. At the moment i’ve followed your advices and configured i3 for a new user on my manjaro installation.

So far, so good
