I lost sound in Firefox. Just Firefox

I run KDE and I just noticed that I lost sound in Firefox. Just Firefox.
The audio works just fine in VLC, Opera, Chrome, etc.

I did a quick search but all the threads I saw were from a few years ago.
I did try a Refresh Firefox but that didn’t help.
I also tried creating a new profile but that didn’t help either.
There was a post that suggested using pavucontrol --tab 1 to check PulseAudio but I got an error in Terminal as pavucontrol wasn’t recognized.

This audio issue happened after the update which I why I am mentioning it hear.
Please let me know if I should move this to a different location.

In the meantime, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It might be worth opening kmix and seeing if (a) there’s an entry in playback streams for Firefox and (b) that it isn’t muted.

Sounds to me like you accidentally hit the mute button on the panel (task manager or icons-only task manager). Or that it might be a bug in the matrix :dark_sunglasses:

browser tabs have built-in media controls and I have sometimes muted audio accidentally in one tab and audio remains muted when I open new tabs
try using Ctrl + M to toggle mute on and off

KDE ISOs do not include pavucontrol - install pavucontrol-qt

That was it, I don’t know how it ended up being muted but it was.
Thank you very much @beermad, I appreciate your help and everyone else who replied!
