I can't use KMS after last update on KDE (unstable branch - RC Kernel)

Today system update (for unstable branch) broke my graphical environment (on Manjaro KDE edition) when I use kms (on /boot/config.txt).

I’ll appreciate your help to better troubleshoot this

I’m at a loss. I do not seem to see linux-rpi4 kernel. mesa or the raspberrypi-bootloader package’s in the list; mostly kde stuff.

After two fresh install on SD Card. I had exact same issue after update and reboot on system with KMS.

I was able to fix this issue on both SD Card setting FKMS (on /boot/config.txt to get temporal access to graphical interface) and going to “Display and Monitor > Compositor” then clicking unmark and apply “Enable compositor on startup”.

After that, I set again KMS and now issue is fixed. Not sure why this happen on last KDE components update.

Glad you figured it out. I am not a plasma guy. I cut my teeth on gnome when the system would crash just looking at the screen. Then gnome2 then went to mate. Old habits are hard to break. I just like simple as an old man.

Maybe you can give it a try to Manjaro KDE. I’m impress how smooth it’s running.

In the past, I gave XFCE and Mate a try. But since Vulkan it’s enabled support on Wayland for RPI4 GPU my user experience has improved a lot.

On the other hand, I really admire your hard work for all the community. Thanks for that Darksky!

5.11-3 kms work but not 5.10.16-3.
