I can't update packages

Hi everybody, I can’t update the system.

I have synchronized the package database, updated the keys, but I cannot update the system packages.
I have been suggested to restore some specific keys (the ones listed in the terminal response), but this is beyond my expertise.

sudo pacman-mirrors -f
(refresh the list of mirrors - you said you already did that)

LC_ALL=C sudo pacman -Syu
(this gives english output and uses the refreshed data)

sudo pacman -Su
is generally not a proper way to update

If there are not many more, remove the packages that are reported as broken from the pacman cache - say yes

I had already synchronized the package database with the command
sudo pacman -Sy
previously for this I had omitted the y

I do not know why there is this conflict.
Generally, removing one of the conflicting packages is the way to go.

libva-mesa-driver

does not seem to exist anywhere in the regular repo or in AUR - I’d remove this.

You should take care of your .pacnew files - one indication for making that recommendation is that you still query the community repo - which does not exist anymore and since a long time, too.

It’s the 32-bit eqivalent of libva-mesa-driver.

The only reason I have 32 bit libraries is that wine has them as a dependency.

-S is for Synchronise Packages
-y is for downloading fresh package databases
-u is the final step - upgrade packages that are out of date.

`pamac update`

NB;- it has to be said that the database was refreshed before abbreviating to -Su

Perhaps you should consider restoring a snapshot, and then try again with one of the correct commands.
