I just installed an rt kernel and I would like to use it from time to time, but here it is: it refuses to boot after selecting it in grub. A message appears telling me that the kernel must be loaded first. Does anyone have an idea of the problem and the solution to this?

Does the kernel have a valid initramfs? Try rebuilding it with… 
sudo mkinitcpio -P && sudo update-grub
