I am running Manjaro XFCE in a QEMU VM and I have no sound

I looked through some of the other posts on this topic but none offer any suggestions which work in my case.
I have tried some “solutions” found on the web but to no avail. Setting up sound using pulseaudio in Manjaro under the VM doesn’t work. Neither does adding a “sound card” in the vm manager.
This actually is the second time I have had sound problems in a vm with Arch-based distros. But I have a second VM running EndeavourOS (which is also Arch-based) but sound works there with no problems.

There is nothing special about this machine - sound and video are motherboard based Intel and it appears this is a stock Manjaro XFCE installation.

Hope to find some ideas and help here.

Thanks

Fixed the problem a little while go. The XML file for sound had inserted a line calling for he “pa” driver for sound. On a hunch I simply removed the line and problem solved. I guess sometimes the defaults QEMU picks are not good choices, Strange that Majaro was the only distro that suffered. I also run EndeavourOS in a VM and never had sound problems with it. Who knows ??

Thanka for your reply.
