Hi running the latest (just installed) manjaro with material shell (15.15.32-1-MANJARO).
When I:
1 launch htop from the GUI and
2 then try to stop it by closing the window
3 the system hangs hard and I have to reboot.
I can open another window and kill the htop process with no ill effect.
I can launch htop in the terminal and kill it or stop it with Ctrl-C no problem.
I thought this might have something to do with the desktop file since terminal is set to true so I tried ranger which also has “terminal=true” but it has no similar problem.
And I tried down grading to the 15.10 kernel but that seems to have no effect either.
So looking for ideas about how to debug/diagnose this.
thanks
brahma

provide formated output from:
inxi -Fazy
try uninstalling htop, reboot, install again, reboot and check
I tried uninstall reboot reinstall reboot and there was no change in the behavior.
The only wrinkles I can add are:
1 sometimes I can do the scenario once and there is no hang (but seems to always happen on the second attempt)
2 sometimes the terminal window closes before the hang and sometimes the hang happens with the window still open.

try switching to wayland or x11
also check logs after the issue happens
It seems per the inxi output I am running wayland - will try staight x11
X11 still has same behavior.
looking at inxi output under display it now says x11 (not wayland server)
and did you check the logs when the freeze happen
Here is the complete log on google drive
there was only 1 related htop log and it was succesfull … realle have no idea… try disable all extension, reboot, and check if it freezes again
