Hey everyone!
I know that someone else has already asked but I did not get what I was looking for. I would like to know how to check if my laptop BIOS needs an update. If so I would like to know how to go about doing so. Help would be appreciated!

You can check the current version of your BIOS by running inxi -M. This will display a “Mobo” section, where theres a Model and Version section.
inxi -M
Compare those to what’s on the vendors BIOS website.
Mine says:
Mobo: LENOVO model: LNVNB161216 v: SDK0J40709 WIN serial: <superuser/root required> UEFI: LENOVO v: 6KCN30WW
If you’re using an UEFI setup you can try fwupd
Thanks everyone for the help much appreciated!!
