I am using Manjaro XFCE, but I have the Qt app gwenview installed. When I browse my phone through KDE connect, it opens the files with gwenview.

xdg-mime default Thunar.desktop inode/directory
you can also search for “inode/directory” in default applications>>>other>>>and set with thunar.

Somehow the command did not do the job, but it worked after setting it in GUI.
