How to know color depth of monitor? and the colors used by the graphic card?

in order to know if my system has temporal dithering which is: a technique to produce more colors than what a display’s panel (or display connection) can support (for example showing colors with 10 bit color depth - “billions of colors” - on an 8 bit - “millions of colors” - panel). i need to know my monitor’s color depth and the color depth used by the graphic card?
in the KDE display configuration windows there is no colors option?
how to know that?

To be sure, you should look up what the specifications of the monitor are. As you’re aware, dithering can be used to fake things, and there’s no way for the OS to know what the monitor is actually doing with the signal it provides.

As to how to look things up - just get the monitors model number and plug it into https://www.displayspecifications.com/. I’ve found them pretty comprehensive.

It also depends on the graphics card, for nvidia you should go in taskbar>settings>nvidia x server settings

There you can click on your Monitor for additional color settings.
