How to install whatsapp and messenger in linux 5.15.91-1 version or linux 515.
whatsapp is available from the AUR. Make sure that you have AUR support enabled in pamac. Use
pamac GUI or terminal to install.
pamac build whatsapp-for-linux
Which “messenger” are you referring to?
ok thanks
i want to learn linux can you recomend me website or helping material?
i am talking about facebook messenger
Think caprine which is in the aur is a good FB messenger client. Has quite a few extra features
There are also some other WhatsApp clients as well in the aur, I use the darkmode version
You don’t actually need to install anything as they both have web versions. Any “application” you may find are just web wrappers.
i know that but i just want to install applications
CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake/Modules/CMakeTestCCompiler.cmake:70 (message):
The C compiler
"/usr/bin/cc"
is not able to compile a simple test program.
It fails with the following output:
Change Dir: /var/tmp/pamac-build-ahsan/whatsapp-for-linux/src/whatsapp-for-linux/CMakeFiles/CMakeScratch/TryCompile-8GKb6r
what is that?
Keep in mind: Linux is not Android, Android is based on Linux.
There is no real native App of the Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger on the Desktop. Even on Windows it is web based. Therefore: Use a web browser.
whatapp-for-linux
for example, is just a mini-browser which only opens https://web.whatsapp.com/
and maybe customize a bit of the CSS. You still need an Android Device.
Telegram is the popular alternative. There you have a native application on the desktop.
Did you install the group base-devel
?
bro i don’t know can you tell me how to check it
bro i know that but i need to install whatsapp for linux i installed messenger
yes it’s install
If you really need this, have look here: GitHub - eneshecan/whatsapp-for-linux: An unofficial WhatsApp desktop application for Linux.
Noob-friendly would be flatpak:
pamac install flatpak libpamac-flatpak-plugin
flatpak install flathub com.github.eneshecan.WhatsAppForLinux
Since the pamac flatpak plugin is installed, you should be able to install it from the pamac-manager
as well.
Or download the AppImage, make the file executable and run it:
I use this whatsapp-nativefier-dark 1.1.0-1 from the aur and it should install with no issues if you dont want flatpak
