How to install a GIMP plugin, esp. David's Batch Processor?

DBP (David’s Batch Processor) is a simple batch processing plugin for the Gimp, it allows the user to automatically perform operations (such as resize) on a collection of image files.I have been using that plugin for years in Ubuntu and Linux Mint. Now I failed to install it for my (Manjaro) GIMP .

In I found a file

for download I tried the installation instruction from It does not work!

One reason might be, that the .rpm format is the wrong package format for Manjaro. Anyway that leads to the questions

(1) how to install a GIMP plugin in Manjaro?
(2) what is the required format of the file to be installed as plugin?

Both the Manjaro wiki and in the Arch wiki are silent on my questions. Would be great if someone could share his experience!

I see it as part of gimp-plugin-registry which is available in the AUR .

It can be installed via pamac GUI or via terminal:

pamac build gimp-plugin-registry
If there is an easier way. I don’t know. You can try to modify the PKGBUILD to install only that plugin, I guess.

I invoked that build process; it appeared to be real complicated, but it worked; I did not need to modify the build process.
