How to disable manual KDE lock screen mute sound?

  1. While music is playing, (Elisa radio or Rhythmbox)
  2. I lock the screen,
  3. turn off the monitor,
but automatically turn off the sound (no music playback). I would like the music, radio to continue playing. Where, how should it be set so that it does not mute the sound?
System Settings > Power Management > Advanced Power Settings > Media Playback
  • :white_check_mark: : “Pause media players when suspending”

Is what you are looking for?

I honestly find the option verbage a tad … off … suspending would be definition mean all media playback is halted.

Thx, but no work. Disable “Pause media players when suspending” and no sound.
When I turn off the monitor, there is no sound! (i use nvidia card)

What kind of speakers do you use? Internal, external, monitor built-in?

Just tested here with smplayer. Audio didn’t miss a beat when locking and unlocking the session, so it could be player-specific. If this is streaming content that might also make a difference.

it’s an anomaly or a bug
every time manjaro start KDE

  1. on screen and suspension by hand
  2. on stop media players when suspended
  3. off stop media players when suspended
and there is sound after the screen is locked, after turning off the monitor

Since Plasma 6 im experience something similar, when i power off my Monitor, manually with my hardware switch.

My sound shows a mute icon for few seconds after the Monitor is powered on again.

This behavior wasn’t there with Plasma 5, (atleast not visual).

But that said, i never try to run Sound when i power off my Monitor,
so im not sure if i look at the same situation.

I saw this on my PC with a nvidia card and also on my AMD Laptop (both with KDE).
