How to connect the Raspberry Pi 4 with VGA monitor from the HDMI port of the Raspberry Pi 4 by making changes in config.txt files of Manjaro flavors Raspberry Pi 4 operating system on OS boot install?

People use adapters but be advised you will not have sound through the hdmi and not all adapters work.

  • If you want to convert an HDMI port to a VGA port by just typing a few commands: that will never work
(But that’s how you phrased your question) :innocent:
  • You need a piece of hardware:
    • Most adapters do not work as @Darksky already mentioned so buy one with a money back warranty and ask if they are Linux compatible (They all are, but more serious vendors will know this whereas box movers will not know so you will be able to weed out the good ones from the bad ones) Some have audio output as well but you’ll need to hook the audio output up to external speakers: 20€ for the adapter, another 30€ for cheap external speakers.
    • most active converters do work, but they come with an additional power supply and will probably cost more than the Pi you bought: 200€
