How to avoid screen turn off?

In manjaro mate, I’ve selected both comboboxes to Never:

  • Put computer to sleep when inactive for
  • Put display to sleep when inactive for
in Power Management Preferences. But after some minutes (I think 5 or so), I see that my display dims until it will be locked.
How can I avoid it? If I want to lock the screen, I prefer to do it manually.

It seems like you need to find the Screen Locking dialogs, wherever they may be, and set a timeout to something more than 5 minutes.

I use KDE.
Where you might find those settings in Mate, I can’t say.

Good luck.

Yes, it was “screen saver” which was the basic step and I had forgotten to check!

I just unchecked the “Activate screensaver when computer is idle” and the problem was resolved. The screensaver was asked to lock the screen when activated.
Thank you.
