I’ve installed Linux Manjaro KDE Plasma onto my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme Gen 2 Laptop and I am having trouble adjusting to the lack of initial trackpad sensitivity on Linux.
The distance required for me to move my finger on the trackpad for the cursor to begin moving is significantly higher on Linux as compared to Windows. I have to slide my finger ~2+mm for the cursor to suddenly overshoot the jump to its new location. The cursor will often go further on screen than I intended, this makes tiny fluid cursor adjustments difficult as once the cursor jumps and begins following I will have to backtrack its movement. Once the cursor is moving it follows my finger movements perfectly, even minute adjustments.
I’ve played around with the available GUI touchpad settings like cursor speed and acceleration but none seem to adjust that initial distance threshold my finger must move for the cursor to begin moving. ChatGPT and other resources seem to suggest this is not a setting I can adjust. I would appreciate any advice on the topic,
Greetings and thanks,
