Seems I messed something up, in windows I watched a vid & it looks much better, I think I need to reset my colors theme. Things look a little blown out & not as much color.
Colour themes do not apply to Video playback.
Uninstall any color correction filters you may have installed, and disable any color profiles or effects, or such in the media player.
Didn’t think so, just checking incase. I hgave no effects or anything for videos applied, so hmmm.
The only thing I can suggest is to check if the videos are being played in Linux using hardware or software decoding.
If the video player has hardware decoding enabled, try disabling it. If hardware acceleration is disabled, try enabling it.
Show only modified preferences
media.hardware-video-decoding.enabled true ub firefox.
You can also do this by opening Firefox’s settings, which can be accessed via the menu or by typing about:preferences
in the address bar.
In the “General” section scroll down to “Performance”. If you remove the tick from “Use recommended performance settings”, you will then have the option to manually enable/disable hardware acceleration:
I’m pretty sure @Edward78 is referring to color correction.
As configured via colord-kde
or similar.
I must assume then that one would simply reset those settings and/or disable loading the *.icc
color profile or similar, depending on how the changes were made in the first place.
Thanks scotty6, I will try when every else is awake. Reseting X sever didn’t seem to help,
