How do I get E-sync support for Wine-staging?

Good day,

I have Lutris (Flatpak) installed on Manjaro. I also have Wine-staging installed from the official repositories.

When I run a game in Lutris it gives me the warning message: “The Wine build you have selected does not support Esync. Please switch to an Esync capable version.”

I have Wine-staging installed and according to my knowledge it does support E-Sync. So what could be the problem here?

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Use either the default lutris Wine version or even better, lutris-GE-Proton.

Thank you for the reply.

I just want to be sure on how to do this.
Is there a way to get the games to run on the Wine version that comes with Lutris? I would prefer not to uninstall the Wine I have on my system since I still want to be able to run non-gaming Windows programs.

If Lutris-GE-Proton is the better option, how do I install it?

There is no need to remove wine-staging.

…it is strongly encouraged to have Wine installed from your operating system’s package manager. This ensures that all required Wine dependencies are present on the system and will produce better results when using Lutris builds.

Lutris F.A.Q.

Lutris stores it’s versions of Wine separately and multiple versions can be installed.

Excellent!
That solved the issue for me.
Thank you very much.
