How can I stop sending a Firaxis crash report?

Hello,

unfortunately, every time I start Civilization VI after a complete crash with Steam on Manjaro Linux 25.04, I get a dialog window with “Firaxis - Crash Reporter.”

It simply cannot be disabled. I’ve already checked all the settings in the Steam app without success, and ChatGPT couldn’t help me either. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance!

I don’t play these games so I don’t really know. Still, I’ve seen many reports of people getting into trouble using AI to try and solve their problems. I’ve tried DDG Assist and it’s often wrong. Instead I just did a simple search for “firaxis crash reporter” and got many responses. The one possible solution I noticed was When starting, I got a crash report generated from Firaxis. Tried a lot of things mentioned online, still doesn't work. :: Sid Meier's Civilization VI Community Support Have you tried this? Actually this seems like a problem with the game or Steam and not Manjaro

I imagine it is the intended behavior, to open the crash report tool, and ask to send a crash report, on the next game boot after a complete game crash.

Maybe focus on why your game crash, and try to fix it. Game reports seem good https://www.protondb.com/app/289070

Or maybe ask directly on the game developer forum, if there is a way to disable a feature he probably implemented, he surely knows.

… disabling (or putting tape over it) is rarely a good solution to the occurrence of the “Check Engine” light. :wink:

Asking for help with running Games

Before asking for help about running Games on Manjaro, we usually ask members to see the pinned topic in the Gaming category:

As the article suggests:

It looks to be a Windows dialog generated by the game itself; especially considering it’s attempting to report to the game creator, Firaxis.

If the specific program that generates the crash reporter can be deleted (or renamed) from the wineprefix, that could potentially be a workaround; but, this is only a guess, not being at all familiar with Firaxis games.

As was suggested, contacting the creator (perhaps they have a forum, or similar) might be your best hope.

General links that may (or may not) be useful;

Otherwise, I can only wish you luck.

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately it’s more related to issues with Windows. Anyway, I reinstalled Steam and the game.

Thanks, I will try it.

Thanks for wishing me luck and your tips!
