After diving into the project I have found several signs of the project being AI generated - it is not bad - but it is a great example of why a human interface is necessary to catch the AI overdoing/underdoing - the polish - wax-on wax-off things.
To avoid editing the service file, I have added a configuration file for the APN /etc/default/xmm7360.
I have also had to edit the lte-applet.py to correctly handle systray components.
Other items to look at:
- The tray icon is invisible
- The logs can viewed on console only - not in GUI - which seem to have been the intention

Even so, I still haven’t given up on writing (putting together) a clean driver. Right now it kind of “works” at a noise level—I just need to filter through the instructions. It’s pretty tricky, but not impossible, and it provides a GUI user service. The service is called “flasher system
